Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek offers an unforgettable journey through Nepal’s diverse landscapes, showcasing the majestic Himalayas and stunning snow-capped peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machapuchhre (Fish Tail). Known as the “Annapurna Sanctuary,” this moderate trek is suitable for a wide range of trekkers, with well-marked trails passing through lush green forests, terraced villages, and vibrant local communities. Starting from Pokhara, trekkers can choose between tea-house or camping accommodations, enjoying both cultural immersion and spectacular mountain views. The trek culminates at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), providing a rewarding high-altitude adventure and memorable Himalayan experience.

Itinerary

Drive from Pokhara to Samrong Khola (1790m) via Nayapul (1010m) – 3 hrs. Start trekking through crossing suspension bridge, charming village and farm terraces, passing Chhomrong (2140m) for lunch with stunning views of Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli. Continue to Sinuwa (2340m) and stay overnight at  a lodge/tea house.

Trek through dense forests, bamboo groves, and along the Modi Khola to Bamboo (2345m) and Dovan (2500m). Ascend to Himalaya (2920m) and onward to Deurali (3230m). Be cautious of avalanche-prone areas along the ridge. Overnight at a tea house.

Climb through shepherd huts, past Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m), to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m). Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, South Annapurna, Tent Peak, Singa Chuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhre. Explore the area, take sunrise/sunset photos, and stay overnight at a tea house.

Descend steeply to Jhinu Danda and relax in natural hot springs. Drive back to Pokhara (3 hrs), passing rice terraces, rivers, and local villages. Overnight in Pokhara with free time for leisure.

  • Nepal Entry Visa (Visa can be acquired easily after your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu with a fee of USD 50 for 30 days visa and USD 125 for 90 days visa).
  • Add-On Services (Optional): Accommodation in Kathmandu, trip extensions, additional support crew, horse riding, and other services available on request.
  • Emergency and unforeseen costs: Helicopter evacuation, additional expenses caused by strikes, weather, natural disasters, or itinerary changes.
